Target Excellence - December 2005
Applying Lessons Learned from For-Profit Camps, Dec 4-5, 2005
Grinspoon Institute camps and “friends” spent an invigorating weekend at our December 4-5 conference at the Springfield (MA) Jewish Community Center. Lead organizers, working closely with Institute mentors and staff, were Skip Vichness, founder and owner of many successful overnight camps, and Jerry Silverman, Executive Director of the Foundation for Jewish Camping. Other guest panelists included Keith Klein of Camp Laurel, Len Robinson of the New Jersey Y Camps, David Phillips of Capital Camps, and Jay Jacobs of Timber Lake Camp. All are prominent figures in camping.
They shared their insights with over one hundred participants at the 2-day event, offering workshops on marketing, leadership, and program excellence. Camp executive directors and lay leaders attending the conference had ample time to network and received one-on-one attention from Institute mentors.
At the conference the Institute introduced its new grant program, Meet Your Match. Please click here for more information on this program.
