Camp Legacy Initiative
The Grinspoon Institute for Jewish Philanthropy, in cooperation with the San Diego Jewish Community Foundation (JCF), launched a pilot legacy giving program in 2008 to train teams at selected camps to attract bequests gifts for endowment purposes.
Today, five camps have completed their fourth year goals and are continuing their Legacy initiatives independently. The remaining active camps are in various stages of their initiatives: thirteen camps are in the midst of their fourth year, twelve camps are in the midst of their third year, eleven camps are in their second year, and seven camps are launching their new programs. By the end of 2011, these camps have nearly 2,300 individuals and families who have made future legacy pledges, collectively valued at $59 million.
